I Dream of Jeannie- Theme Song
Barbara Eden has had a varied career but will probably
best be remembered for her role as the genie in the bottle on the TV comedy
"I Dream of Jeannie". When astronaut Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman) parachutes
onto a desert isle following an aborted space mission, he finds a strange
bottle, opens it, and out pops a beautiful blonde 2000 year old genie
wanting to cater to his every whim. Since she only appears to Tony, he can't
convince anyone that she exists but, eventually, his friend Roger (Bill
Daly) learns the secret. 'Jeannie' falls in love with her master immediately
and her jealousy makes it impossible for him to date a mortal without her
comic interference. Her unfamiliarity with the ways of 20th century life
made for hilarious situations. Near the end of the series, Jeannie finally
convinced Tony of the inevitability of their love and the two were married. |
