 Mission Impossible
Mission Impossible

Mission Impossible- Theme Song
"Your mission, Dan, should you decide to accept it, is..." began the next exciting episode of intrigue that was the television series "Mission Impossible". A group of extraordinary government spies, each experts in their own fields, are members of the Impossible Missions Force headed up by Daniel Briggs (Steven Hill) in 1966-67, then James Phelps (Peter Graves) until 1973. The beginning of each episode features the now famous tape-recorded message outlining the latest impossible mission that the group is to tackle. Popular during the cold war, the groups missions usually centered around overthrowing the government of some small Communist country who was causing problems for the free world. The original series, which ended in 1973, featured the acting talents of such stars as Barbara Bain, Martin Landau, Greg Morris, Leonard Nimoy, and Sam Elliot, just to name a few. A revival of the series was seen in 1998-90 with Peter Graves returning as Jim Phelps to head up the IMF with a new team of operatives. The series continued popularity led to two popular movies of the same name starring Tom Cruise.
