Partridge Family, The- Theme Song
Based loosely on the real-life singing
family The Cowsills, Shirley Jones and stepson David Cassidy starred in the
musical sitcom "The Partridge Family". The show featured the family
Partridge, widowed mother Shirley (Jones), sons Keith (Cassidy), Danny
(Danny Bondaduce), and Chris (Jeremy Gelwalks/Brian Foster), daughters
Laurie (Susan Dey) and Tracy (Suzanne Crough), a singing/recording family
who hit it big. The song "I Think I Love You", with vocals by Jones and
Cassidy, was seen on the show and released to the public, resulting in 4
million copies sold. The family toured in a multi-colored school bus and
were managed by their agent Rueben Kincaid (Dave Madden). David Cassidy
became a teen idol during the show's run, toured independently as a
recording artist, and was in every teen magazine on the shelves during the
70's. |
