Wonder Woman- Theme Song
Charles Moulton's comic-book character "Wonder Woman"
came to television in 1976 with Linda Carter in the starring role. Set in
the 1940's, Wonder Woman, a true Amazon princess from Paradise Island saves
the life of Steve Trevor (Lyle Waggoner), a pilot, and returns with him to
America. Yeoman Prince twirled into the star-spangled Wonder Woman and with
her bullet-deflecting wrist bands and magic lasso, the Nazis didn't have a
chance.
When the series returned in 1977, it was retitled "The New Adventures of
Wonder Woman" and the time period was moved to the present. Now working for
the IADC, Prince hadn't aged a day but Steve Trevor was now known as Steve
Trevor Jr, the son of Wonder Woman's original love interest. Wonder Woman
now battled subversives, terrorists, and others bent on world domination. |

Lyric:
Wonder Woman
("Wonder Woman" by Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox)
Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman.
All the world's waiting for you,
and the power you possess.
In your satin tights,
Fighting for your rights
And the old Red, White and Blue.
Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman.
Now the world is ready for you,
and the wonders you can do.
Make a hawk a dove,
Stop a war with love,
Make a liar tell the truth.
Wonder Woman,
Get us out from under, Wonder Woman.
All our hopes are pinned on you.
And the magic that you do.
Stop a bullet cold,
Make the Axis fall,
Change their minds, and change the world.
Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman.
You're a wonder, Wonder Woman.
